How does disease occur?
Ultimately there are two reasons: oxidation (similar to metal rusting) and inflammation (which is the redness surrounding a wound). Redox molecules balance cells so that they do not suffer from either fate. When cells lose that balance they become diseased.
What does "redox" stand for? It is a short-form for "reduction" and "oxidize." These molecules, found in every living thing, are the foundation to life itself. Without them cells become either oxidized or inflamed. Redox molecules die off as we age, use medications, get injured, live poor life-styles, etc. This is why we slow down and become increasingly prone to disease.
